Last night while making the birthday boy’s cake, I learnt a valuable lesson – don’t accidentally press the turbo button on the electric beater when the beater’s not in the bowl – just as I managed to get the egg yolks and sugar “thick and pale” I got a lovely dotted pattern of it on myself and everything that lay on the bench.
Similar lesson to last week when I learnt why you’re not supposed to put hot liquids (eg. pumpkin soup) in the blender. Makes a great pressure system to blow the top off! Lucky yellow blends in with the colour scheme in the kitchen. Puns are great.
